Following great success in 2016 for its recognised new homes training academy for sales consultants, specialist recruiter Maitland Selwyn is experiencing record levels of interest from new potential candidates looking for a new career in the booming residential housing industry.

Looking both to create new stars from outside the industry and improve skills for those who already work in it, Maitland Selwyn is offering its programme around the UK once again in 2017 with its Long Distance Programme along with sales programmes set to take place in locations across the UK. Despite real, tangible success seen in 2016 from the programme, the demands of the industry remain high, and so 2017 looks set to break records for the number of newly qualified professionals entering the industry.

Maitland Selwyn managing director, Chris Haley, comments: “Our successes training new candidates in 2016 were notable, but we know this is only the tip of the iceberg if we are to help the industry maintain its efforts to deliver the volume of newly built properties set out by the government. We also know that we not only need to improve further on the volume of candidates we encounter, but also on the quality, and we’re constantly identifying new ways to achieve this”.

With this need to look forward, 2017 will introduce a new e-learning platform to deliver the eight modular, long distance training along with the existing residential sales programme to add a further dimension for prospective candidates. The five-day group event aspect will remain intact, but the remote portion of the course will now be bolstered by the e-learning platform, available to all candidates as part of the programme.

The e-learning platform has been prepared and developed by the Training Team at Maitland Selwyn along with “Learn Upon”, a bespoke training organisation.

Of the 12 courses planned for 2017, the first four have been “sold out” and many others are filling up fast, so anyone interested is advised to contact Maitland Selwyn to secure their place. What’s more, for any candidate looking to join a course more than 3 hours away from their home and requiring overnight accommodation, Maitland Selwyn will contribute towards those accommodation costs.
